11 Honoré: now is the time for plus-size fashion

20 févr. 2019

Last week, 11 Honoré launched their first New York Fashion Week show for designer brands in sizes 11-20+, closed by superstar Laverne Cox in Zac Posen. The industry still has a long way to go when it comes to diversity but this catwalk represented a huge milestone for plus-size shoppers who make up 68% of American women.

As an e-commerce site stocking over 80 brands, 11 Honoré is keen to make it as easy as possible for the masses to shop high-end clothing, whatever their size. Having released scannable Shopify QR codes for the NYFW show, guests could simply tap to buy the best runway looks straight off the catwalk. Now ready to put their stamp on New York’s retail scene, 11 Honoré have launched a pop-up shop during this busy US fashion period so fans can try on the beautiful pieces in person. Boasting 45k followers on Instagram, the 11 Honoré team hope that the store will emotionally connect to committed and new, curious customers alike.

As well as Posen, top featured designers include: Altuzarra, Christian Siriano, Brandon Maxwell, Chromat, Jason Wu and Prabal Gurung. Several brands have also created pieces exclusively for 11 Honoré, such as Baja East, Brandon Maxwell, Prabal Gurung, and Tome.

The company’s new physical presence further cements their success; the time is now for plus-size brands to finally make their mark on the luxury fashion world. We hope the market response fuels similar pop-ups in the future.
