Fatherly – a website and Instagram that provides news, expert advice, product recommendations and other resources for parents – buddied up with Gillette to create a physical space for Father’s Day.
Their immersive listening lounge, on West 14th Street, took the form of a gallery of open letters written from men to boys of the world. They explored how today’s men can help raise tomorrow’s husbands, fathers, and leaders in an era defined by a rethinking of masculine norms. These missives cover life, love, and life in the 21st-century, and the line-up of writers is enough to inspire any young man with an eye on the future.
Scribes included: former Navy SEAL Brandon Webb; Academy Award-winning rapper Common; Top Chef contestant Edward Lee; professional Skier and B.A.S.E. jumper Matthias Girard; Dr Michael Reichert, therapist and author of ‘How To Raise A Boy’.
Additional to this, The Poetry Society of New York was be on hand to offer visitors personalized Father’s Day poems. Ideal for the poets that don’t know it. (Or even the ones the do.)
